The brooding ruins of Sandal Castle - standing on a hill high above the sweeping valley of the river Calder, just outside the West Yorkshire city of Wakefield - provide the perfect setting for performances of the historical plays of William Shakespeare and Wakefield Little Theatre have made good use of them, with productions of Macbeth, Richard III, Henry VI and most recently, Richard II

Shakespeare at Sandal will return in due course and we will update the website with news of developments as and when they occur, so please do come back and visit again

If you would like to be added to our emailing list, to be advised of future productions, please drop us a line to that effect at info@shakespeareatsandal.org
